Leaders In Action Needed for West Michigan Educational Leadership Conference!
Kent ISD needs your expertise and experience to create exceptional learning experiences throughout the conference. We are seeking session presentation proposals from school districts, school board members, administrators, thought leaders and like-minded organizations. The 60-minute presentations would be given on December 11, 2017.
Kent ISD strives to provide the highest quality professional learning opportunities for educators. The West Michigan Educational Leadership Conference is an intensive day of learning and networking experience bringing together hundreds of education administrators and leaders, as well as, content experts. The goal is to inform and equip school leaders so they may govern and lead their districts effectively. The theme this year will be Leaders in Action. Every presentation will have a district/building administrator that can showcase the presentation topic in action.
The best proposals:
Presenting at WMELC is the ideal way to share best practices, disseminate effective strategies and deepen understanding regarding emerging issues in education. The submission deadline is Friday, June 9, 2017.

- Include the voice of school leaders. Tip: Partner with a school district that has experience with your session topic. You could also invite a school leader or superintendent to co-present with you. If you need help matching up with a school leader, please indicate that on your proposal and we will help match your theme to an active leader.
- Allow and manage time for participant interaction and understanding. Tip: Explain how you will incorporate opportunities for participants to interact while also ensuring learning outcomes.
- Refrain from selling. Tip: Education leaders come to WMELC to learn and network. If you want to develop a relationship with school leader, share a success story not a sales pitch.
